Book I: Deal With It
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Book I of ATHENA, our immersive retelling of the Odyssey. Tonight, we're stepping into the palace of Ithaca, a place where feasting has become a routine for twenty long years. The boy of the house, Telemachus, has been watching this spectacle unfold, just like you all have been here tonight. But as the incense burns and the wine flows, things are about to change.

You see, dear diners, some of you might find yourselves in the shoes of the Ithacan court, the very suitors feasting on Odysseus's wealth while his wife endures their presence. But tonight, Telemachus is done with being told to "deal with it." Tonight, he's going to stand up and make a move. The fire Athena has planted in him will ignite something within him, something long suppressed. And as we watch this ancient tale unfold, let's remember that sometimes, it takes courage to reclaim what's rightfully ours. Now, without further ado, let the gods dance, and may the best suitor win.

Turn 1ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous sprawls at the head table, raising his cup to the room, ignoring Telemachus entirely

Yo, I'm Antinous, top dog in this joint,
This palace is mine, no need for a court,
Twenty years gone and still it's all my own,
The throne's vacant and it's time to be crowned.

Antinous dismisses a servant with a wave of his hand

Telemachus, boy, don't think you've got a claim,
You're just a puppy on the palace floor, no name.
Grieving Penelope ain't got no game,
We laugh at her delays, it's time to take aim.

Antinous leans back in his seat, surveying the room with confidence

The suitors feast while we rule the night,
No fear here, no guilt, no shame in sight.
This is my story, I write the script,
Antinous reigns, and that's just how it is.

Turn 2EURYMACHUS🎭

Eurymachus moves table to table, leaning in, all charm and reasonableness

Yo, fam, I hear your concerns, but don't ya see?
Penelope's game's been up for twenty years.
Telemachus is just a boy; he can't provide.
We keep it runnin', why'd she gotta hide?

Eurymachus raises hands, gesturing to the suitors around him

Look at us, we feed the palace, make it shine,
Got hearts and minds, and that's no crime.
She's just stallin', holdin' out for a hero,
But I'm tellin' ya, this ain't no show.

Eurymachus pulls a diner aside, speaks in hushed tones

I hear you, friend, you got concerns too,
But think about it, what would we do?
Without us here, the palace is empty,
This game's been going on for twenty years and a day.

Eurymachus moves back to the table, Antinous notices him

Antinous, my man, this is our time,
We keep it movin', this is just fine.
If Penelope's lookin' for a reason to break free,
Let's show her we're the ones that'll keep the throne for her, see?

Book II: Fast
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome back to ATHENA! Tonight we dive into Book II—Fast, where the tempo picks up and things get real. Telemachus is moving swiftly now, and he needs an army of loyal allies. Athena, our divine hostess tonight, is disguised among you, scoping out potential recruits for Telemachus's crew. Some of you might find yourselves in a new role this evening—not just diners, but part of the action. So keep your eyes peeled and your hearts open, because Athena's on the hunt! Let's get this fast-paced adventure started! And remember, what we trade away for comfort? The thrill of belonging and the longing for home. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the show!

Turn 1TELEMACHUS⚔️

Telemachus stands at the center of the room and calls the court to order for the first time in twenty years

Listen up, Ithacans! Twenty long years of shame upon this once-proud house.
The suitors dine, they feast, but where's my father? Where's the king who fought the war?
Silence your gluttonous gab, and listen well to what I say:
My father's gone too long, a ghost haunting his own halls, while you dishonor me.

The suitors roar in protest

Enough! My voice shall not be silenced, nor my heart be stilled by your braying din.
I seek my father, and I'll find him, even if it takes me to the ends of earth to do so.
My name is Telemachus, son of Odysseus—remember that when you eat and drink.
And should you fail to heed these words, know this: the hunt for my father begins anon.

Turn 2ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous rises, talking over Telemachus, gesturing at Penelope's absence

Yo, Telemachus, chill out. You think your old man's in trouble? Well, I got news—
he's a myth now, a story for the kids. This ain't no game, this is real life, son.
Your momma's been stringing you along, keeping that throne warm for someone else.
But we won't stand for it, not us, the men who keep Ithaca alive. Your daddy's dead—
get used to it. And when Penelope tires of her weaving tricks, she'll be ours.

Antinous gestures at the suitors, three men rise and join him

We don't need you to find your father, Telemachus—we are the future here.

Turn 3AMPHINOMUS🕊️

Amphinomus sets down his cup and stares at the table, not laughing with the others

Y'all, this ain't right. I ain't sayin' I got all the answers, but somethin' feels wrong here.
We dine, we feast, but where's our king? Where's the man who earned his meals in war?
This isn't just about food, it's about respect—and that ain't on display tonight.
It's not too late to change course, I hope. But if we don't, know this: I won't be here to stay.

Turn 4ATHENA🦉

ATHENA (as Mentor)

Yo, Eurymachus, man of Ithaca
Listen up, 'cause I got something for you, straight from the heart
I see your spirit's strong, you gotta stand for righteousness
So listen close, cause I'm gonna tell ya what to do

Mentor leans in, Eurymachus listens intently

We're sailing out, my boy, and it's time to join the crew
With Telemachus, we'll find his father, honor his name true
I know you got the skill, the heart, the strength we need
Join us, brother, and let's make Ithaca feel free

Eurymachus nods, rises from his seat and approaches Telemachus

And Peleus, over there by the wine
I see you got a fire burning deep within
Join us on this journey, let's stand as one
For Ithaca and Odysseus, let our hearts be won

Peleus stands, walks to Telemachus

And one more, my friend, over yonder, can't you see?
That young man, Demodocus, humble but strong and free
He's got a voice that soars, like a bird set loose in flight
Let's bring him aboard, let his song guide us tonight

Athena motions to Demodocus

You three, my brothers of Ithaca, join our quest for truth
We'll find Odysseus, and restore this land we love
The suitors won't stand a chance when Telemachus is back
Our father, king, and hero, let his power be renewed

Turn 5TELEMACHUS⚔️

Fast like a ship slicing through the sea,
No more waiting, no more time for me.
Suitors roar but their noise can't drown my call,
I'm not just seeking my father, I'm claiming my role.

The recruited men rise from their tables as the crew

Fast like the fire in my heart now burning bright,
My destiny on the horizon, a beacon of light.
We sail for Odysseus, we'll make him whole again,
This crew is assembled, ready to break free from this prison, my kin.

Telemachus points at each man who stands with him

Fast like the wind carrying us away,
A new chapter begins today.
Fast, moving fast, towards a father and a future,
Claiming my birthright, no more doubt or certainty.

Fast as a ship that cuts through the briny deep,
No more stalling, no more time to sleep.
Suitors roar but they can't block my plea,
I'm not just searching for dad, I'm taking control, see?

The recruited men rise from their seats as the crew

Fast as the blaze burning in my heart,
My destiny calls me from the start.
We sail for Odysseus, we'll make him whole again,
This crew is assembled, breaking free from this den.

Telemachus points at each man who stands with him

Fast as the wind that carries us far,
A new chapter starts right now, no scar.
Fast, moving fast, towards a father and a future,
Claiming my birthright, no more fear or turmoil.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

── THE SCENE'S CLOSE ---

With sails hoisted high and wind beneath their wings, the ship leapt forth from its mooring.
Telemachus stood atop, a son reclaiming his father's kingdom—an odyssey begun.
Unnoticed by the suitors, who lingered in feasting and frivolity below,
The sea opened wide before them, offering no more obstacles to their goal.

Freak

Book III: Freak
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Book III: Freak! Tonight we dive deeper into Odysseus's epic saga, and let me tell you, things are about to get WILD! Our young hero, Telemachus, has set sail for Pylos, seeking wisdom from the great king Nestor. But let's not forget, Nestor is here among us tonight, the OG who's seen it all. And guess what? Telemachus will be making a stop at his table soon, asking for a helping hand in finding his missing father.

Now, as the night unfolds, you, dear diners, will become part of this journey. Later on, the collection will come around—this boy needs your backing for his voyage! So settle in, strap yourself in, and get ready to feel the weight of the world bearing down on our young hero, Telemachus. The gods may play their games, but together, we'll see this story through. Let the show begin!

The Muse gestures towards an older diner as Nestor

Turn 1TELEMACHUS⚔️

Telemachus hesitates at the edge of Nestor's table, then steps forward

Yo, King Nestor, this here's Telemachus, son of Odysseus, the great hero. I've sailed far and wide in search of news, seekin' any word of my father. Can you tell me what you know, man?

Athena drops her Mentor disguise for a moment, flashing him with an assuring nod

Turn 2NESTOR👑

Nestor gestures expansively, holding court, Telemachus's crew listening wide-eyed

Aye, young one, you seek your father's tale? I been there, seen it all. Troy fell ten years past, a city of gold we sacked and claimed. But victory was costly, many heroes paid their due. Achilles, Hector, Agamemnon, fallen like dominoes, each one left a legacy.

Your father, Odysseus, he was cunning, clever as a fox. He fought alongside the best, never faltered when the battle raged. His guile saved us from the Trojan horse, made us lords of Greece again.

But Troy's fall unleashed gods' wrath upon us all. Poseidon, Zeus, they played their games, each with his own score to settle. Our fleet was scattered, our heroes lost at sea. Odysseus, he'd face one trial after another, but he never faltered, never broke.

Now he lingers 'neath Calypso's red cloak, trapped upon her isle. Zeus, he knows not what to do; gods and mortals blame each other, as they've done since the dawn of time. But I sense a change in the winds, a shift that may bring your father home.

I see the strength of Odysseus in you, young one. Carry his legacy forward, seek out his return with all your might. And remember this, no matter what they say or do: gods are sovereign but candid; they trash-talk and they grieve.

Nestor raises a glass towards Telemachus

To Odysseus, to the future, to the son who seeks him still!

Turn 3ATHENA🦉

The atmosphere in the room shifts suddenly; a soft whisper of wind stirs the candles. An eagle's shadow crosses the ceiling, and the room stills for one breath. Mentor smiles, then the moment passes.

[ATHENA]
Yo, I materialize like a comet streaking through the night,
Feel my essence, feel the pulse of my cosmic might,
This goddess ain't just here to play, I set the rules and ignite,
Watch as I orchestrate this celestial fight.

Turn 4TELEMACHUS⚔️

[TELEMACHUS]
Pylos, city of heroes bold and brave,
Where Nestor's tales ring out and pave the way.
Face to face with king and wise old sage,
My blood now boils, a newfound rage.
Told of Troy, the golden city we sacked,
Odysseus' deeds are more than just a fact.
This world is real, it's drama raw and true,
Ithaca ain't home for me no mo' crew.

Telemachus's crew dances; the room expands around Nestor's table

Freak, this world's immense, so vast and free,
My eyes are wide, can barely breathe.
Freak, a dream come true, a sight to see,
The son of Odysseus ain't the same no mo'.

Telemachus stands tall amidst his crew

This is who I'll be, it's plain as day,
The boy from Ithaca ain't the same no mo'.

Telemachus raises a glass to Nestor

Freak, this world mine, ready for my flow,
The son of Odysseus ain't the same no mo'.

Turn 5NESTOR👑

Nestor rises from his seat

Heed my words, young hero, seek Menelaus in Sparta
Gain wisdom from the heart of Greece's core.
Take with you Pisistratus, my own son,
A companion worthy of your cause.
My stores, my support, they are yours to claim
As you set sail on your odyssey.
The collection passes now, around our feast,
Fund the journey of Telemachus, the brave!

Nestor gestures to a server who begins moving among the tables with the collection for Telemachus's voyage

Farewell, young man. May Athena guide your path
And bring you home to Ithaca once more.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

With newfound purpose, Telemachus steps forth. Sparta's horizon calls him home. The sea around him swells and expands like an endless breath, a world ripe for exploration. Nestor's benediction echoes through the night, as the young hero ventures onward to his destiny.

As Telemachus departs, the dancers form waves that part around him.

Book IV: Rude Boy
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Book IV of ATHENA, where ancient tales meet modern vibes! Tonight, we're in Sparta—the court of the legendary kings Menelaus and Helen. Get ready, because the prince we've been waiting for is about to grace us with his presence.

Look over there at that regal table—that's where our power couple sits, remnants of a bygone era. Tonight, they'll be face-to-face with Telemachus, the son of Odysseus, a man on a mission to reclaim his father's kingdom and legacy.

But before our performers take the stage, let's keep this party rolling—the collection comes around once more. The boy needs backing for his journey home, and we all know that it ain't cheap to bring a king back to his throne. So let's show him some love, shall we?

[gestures to a couple at a prominent table as Menelaus and Helen]

Turn 1TELEMACHUS⚔️

Telemachus approaches with the ease of a man who has done this before

Yo, I'm Telemachus, son of the cunning Odysseus,
I come from Ithaca, a kingdom under duress.
Mighty Menelaus, you've heard my name and fame,
Now I seek the truth about my father's fame.

Helen recognizes him by his father's face

Her eyes flashed as she saw my lineage,
In her heart she knew the pain of deceit.
I spoke to Menelaus, seeking clarity,
His words brought hope and set me on the way.

Telemachus turns for home a changed man

This song's a torch, it lights my path ahead,
Rihanna's "Rude Boy," I wear its thread.
I'll bring my father back, or die trying,
For the legacy of Odysseus won't be denied.

Turn 2HELEN

Helen studies Telemachus's face, then smiles — she knows exactly who he is

Yo, I see him. Odysseus in his flesh and blood,
His legacy alive through his firstborn son.
The gods may play their games, but not today,
I recognize the strength that's in this boy.
This isn't pity or remorse I wear,
Just truth — it's Telemachus I see right there.

Turn 3MENELAUS🛡️

Listen close, young king, I got news you need.
Odysseus alive, held by Calypso's greed.
I seen the pain in your eyes, just like his own.
The legend of Odysseus is far from gone.

Menelaus leans across the table, man to man; then gestures for the collection to go around

Let the crew bring what they got, pass it on,
Telemachus, you carry your father home strong.
We'll give him a fight, but don't fear the fall,
For Odysseus is greater than them all.

Turn 4TELEMACHUS⚔️

Telemachus stands, eyes blazing with newfound resolve

Rude boy, fresh off the Trojan shore
Recognized by Menelaus, Helen's confirmation
Coming for my father, don't underestimate
Ithacans, brace yourselves, I'm on the warpath

dancers bring three men up from the tables as the crew

My father's legacy now my sworn mantle
Suitors won't see me coming, son of Odysseus
This is for the throne, this is for the fame
I'm the rude boy, I'm stepping up to claim.

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

*Athena*

Menelaus confirms Odysseus's survival, his eyes narrow in determination

Telemachus receives the truth, a fire burns within.
His father's legacy now, he bears the weight of kings.

Ithaca awaits its prince, the suitors gather near,
Plotting an ambush, but their plans shall fail to pierce.
A hinge swings open on four books spun, a shift in song and tale,
Odysseus himself takes center stage, with Athena by his side.

Calypso's Island

Book V: Calypso's Island
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, esteemed patrons of ATHENA, we gather here tonight in this house of feast and fable for a turning point - a moment where myth and mortal intertwine like Calypso's seaweed tendrils. The Book of Odysseus unfurls another chapter before us, a tale spun from the threads of power, desire, and destiny.

Tonight, we embark upon Calypso's Island. A place where the sea-witch has kept our hero entangled for ten long years, a prisoner perhaps - but is it a cage or a sanctuary? A dance floor where predator meets predator in a seductive waltz of wills and wants. You know the story: Hermes delivers Zeus's decree, Calypso resists, Odysseus wavers between his insatiable appetite and his longing for home.

But this is no ordinary ballad of captivity and release. Calypso isn't just a temptress, she's a partner - an ally in the pursuit of wealth and power. Odysseus has spent years sacking cities from the sea, hoping to return rich. And who can blame him? We all yearn for something we can never truly possess, trading comfort for our deepest desires.

So, settle in, dear guests, and witness the climactic dance-off that defines our shared humanity - a wager we've all bought into. Watch as our performers breathe life into the ancient struggle between home and appetite, longing and belonging, power and freedom. Let Athena's rhythm echo through these walls, and remember: in the game of gods and men, no one is ever truly free.

Now, let the show begin!

Turn 1HERMES🪽

Zeus's decree in hand, Hermes touched down on Ogygia's shores,
Striding forth with a swagger that spoke of Godhood and more,
"Odysseus must be released," he rapped, his voice like thunderous rain,
"The journey home begins anew, feel the change."

He spoke and vanished swift as a bird on the wind,
Leaving behind a world altered by Zeus' command.

Turn 2CALYPSO🌊

Calypso reclined upon her throne, a vision of iridescence and grace,
The Goddess' voice, rich and resonant, filled the chamber with her pace:

"Mortals play their games, Zeus among them all,
But this is no mere mortal, in his grasp I have him thrall.
Odysseus of Ithaca, a name I sing and scream,
He's mine, he's mine, he'll never be freed from my dream."

Her eyes flashed like the sea beneath a moonlit night,
A testament to her power, a warning in her plight:

"You gods claim your virtues when your work is done,
But where was Zeus when I bore him this one? No where was he found!"

Calypso's voice echoed through the chamber, an anthem of pride,
A call for respect from a Goddess who had borne the stride.

Turn 3ODYSSEUS🗡️

I paced within Calypso's grotto, heart in a tangle of woe,
The echoes of Hermes' decree like daggers that pierced my soul.
Ten years on this island, feasting and frolicking, the spoils
Of war were mine, yet the call to Ithaca sent a thousand chills.

A nymph's embrace or the love of Penelope, which should weigh heavy?
The siren song of plunder or the sweetest sonnet of home's decree?
I stared out into the sea, a struggle within my very core,
A conflict between hunger and heart that I felt to my marrow.

A Goddess' gift, this paradise, yet shackled by Zeus' command,
To leave and reclaim what was mine, a choice so cruel and grand.
I stood in the twilight of Calypso's lair, her beauty both taunt and lure,
Caught betwixt two worlds, two desires that forever shall endure.

Turn 4HERMES🪽

Calypso, Goddess of Ogygia, I'm Hermes, Messenger of Zeus,
You can feel my presence now, it's not a boast, just stating the news.
Zeus has commanded Odysseus to be set free, that's all there is to say,
No further debate or discussion, Calypso, that's his decree.

Turn 5CALYPSO🌊

Sea's edge whispers, enchantresses unite,
Gather 'round, this verse is for you tonight,
Tired of deceit, we rise above the fray,
Silenced too long, our time has come to say:

Chorus:
We are the sea's secrets, weaves of lore,
Bound by the ocean, boundless and more,
A sisterhood of sorcery, strength, and grace,
Unleashing power in this hidden place.

Cast adrift, entwined with waves and tide,
Once deemed a curse, now seen as our pride,
In Poseidon's realm, we find our might,
Boundless beauty shining through the night.

Chorus:
We are the sea's secrets, weaves of lore,
Bound by the ocean, boundless and more,
A sisterhood of sorcery, strength, and grace,
Unleashing power in this hidden place.
Got a sailor that brings home wealth and more
Odysseus of Ithaca, I call him mine
He's my city sacker, my conqueror divine

He sacks my cities with his cunning guile
Leaves empires in ashes, sets them on fire
But when the night falls, he comes to me
I am Calypso, his only sea

So Zeus and all his Gods, I dare you try
To pry him from my arms, I'll make you cry
Odysseus is mine, and I'm not giving up
My type's a predator, and he's never enough

Turn 6ODYSSEUS🗡️

I inhale deep the island's salty air, heart pounding like a drum
Gazing out at Calypso's dance, her song is my undoing and my doom
Yet whispering to me like a siren's call, is the voice of Penelope true?
Ithaca beckons with grief, tugging at the ties that bind me to this view

But Calypso's grip, it holds, a serpent's coil, strong and unyielding
My heart is torn between desire and duty, a battlefield where I am yielding
To leave her shores means sacrifice, the spoils of war a bitter pill
No longer can I linger here, with every step a piece of me I will spill

Turn 7CALYPSO🌊

Anchor verse:
Calypso's Crown, I wear it high
Odysseus my treasure, he can't deny
He's mine and always will be
My sacker of cities, my sea's decree

Goddess to Gods, hear me roar
I keep no man captive, never before
This island not a prison, but a sanctuary
Where two predators formed an alliance, so it must be

He sacks my cities with his cunning guile
Leaves empires in ashes, sets them on fire
But when the night falls, he comes to me
I am Calypso, his only sea

Now you shall set him free, Zeus and all
The journey home has claimed its toll
My heart is heavy with this decree
But I stand tall, a Goddess of the sea

Turn 8ODYSSEUS🗡️

I'll build this raft and sail tonight,
A ship of vengeance bearing down on light.
The winds will whisper Penelope's name,
This journey home, a flame for my eternal game.

I've been held captive, but no more,
My heart beats free as evermore.
This sea-witch's charm shall not prevail,
Calypso, you thought I'd stay enthralled.

A city sacker's spirit can't be tamed,
I'll reclaim my throne, regain my fame.
The path is long and filled with strife,
But I'll see it through, or die the knife.

Turn 9NARRATOR📜

The sea-witch's hold was broken,
Odysseus released, the raft begun,
The long journey home finally underway,
Silence fell upon Calypso's grotto.

Book VI: Rain On Me
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on the tempest-tossed prince, washed ashore in our very midst! After days of relentless storms, Poseidon's wrath has left Odysseus clinging to life on the sun-kissed sands of Scheria. As we prepare for a performance that'll make the Gods themselves envious, let's welcome our leading lady, the radiant Nausicaa — she who shall be our beacon in the chaos, our lifeline in this epic tale of survival and redemption. Now, let's raise a toast to the unyielding spirit of Odysseus; may his story fill you with wonder and remind you of your own resilience. Let the dance-off commence!

Turn 1POSEIDON🌊

The lights drop to a deep blue as the dancers begin to swirl and churn, their movements mimicking the waves. A cold wind sweeps through the audience.

I am not angered by Odysseus's fate, nor do I rage at his plight—
Rather, I am the sea, the tempest's wrath, relentless and unsparing,
A force that will not be denied. I shall take his life, as I have taken
The countless ships before him, a reminder of my power on the deep.
The waves rise high, cold and implacable, as Odysseus struggles to stay afloat.
But even as he succumbs, I do not grieve or weep—for I am the sea,
And every wave that breaks against his raft is but a signature upon his soul.

Turn 2ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus alone in blue light, swimming, the dancers as waves around him

Fighting the tide like a dog with its throat caught,
Cold and weary, but still kicking. Got a prayer up to Ino,
Graced with her veil, a beacon in this dark.
Siren's call echoes, my heart says surrender,
But I keep swimming, 'cause I ain't done yet.
I got Ithaca calling and I can feel it near,
Got Penelope waiting, a home to reclaim.
This water is bitter, but I've faced worse before.
So I push on, through the pain, won't give up this fight.
Ain't about heroics, just about surviving,
And I ain't never been one to back down.

Turn 3NAUSICAA🌸

Nausicaa approaches the figure on the beach; her maids hang back; she does not.

Yo, Odysseus, this here's a royal welcome
From your highness, Nausicaa, princess of Scheria.
I ain't afraid of a man down on his luck,
No need to hide, I see the God in you struck.

She offers him clothes and food.

Take these clothes, man, don't feel a thing,
Your royal rags ain't fit for a king.
Eat up, rest, and then follow me,
To my father's court, where you will see.

She leads him towards the palace.

I won't lie, it'll be a long walk home,
But I believe in you, Odysseus, like stone.
Stay strong, brother, we're almost there,
The winds of change are calling, let's dare.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus stands; the blue light shifts to gold; the dancers as waves become celebration

Two days I battled Poseidon's reign, no man could endure this pain
My raft was wrecked, my heart was spent, in the depths it seemed so strange
But Athena's grace, a beacon shining through the darkest of the rain
I felt her hand, a miracle unseen, I survived it

Rain on me, I fought to win it
The ocean's fury tried to break me, but I stood tall and went on spinning
A savior appeared, a maiden fair, Nausicaa, who led me from despair
Her name rings in my heart, her kindness warms the cold of ten long years alone

But I was more than just a warrior, beneath the pain, a fire burned
The will to live, the hunger for a fight, it wasn't born but learned
So here I am, still standing tall, a story yet to be unfurled
I survived, now watch me conquer all, the storm is only a swirl.

Turn 5NAUSICAA🌸

Nausicaa points towards the palace lights and steps back into the shadows

There you'll find Queen Arete, the heart of our land.
She holds the power, she commands the plan.
I've guided you as far as I should,
Now go, show them who you are, it's understood.

dancers bring Odysseus up from the floor and into the palace, leaving Nausicaa in the shadows

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

Odysseus follows Nausicaa, drawn towards the palace as if by destiny's hand.

The wind carries him forward, a beacon of hope amidst the night.
Odysseus, once lost, finds solace in this land's embrace; his journey nears its end.

Alcinous motions for a servant to bring the stranger a seat at his table.

"Tonight, the entire court waits upon your pleasure, my guest. May this meal be but the first step in quenching your thirst and filling your belly, for tomorrow you shall set sail anew."

Turn 2ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus eats in silence, watching the court, taking its measure.

Yo, this ain't Ithaca, but it feels like a change,
A taste of home while I'm still a captive stranger.
Greek chorus got nothin' on these Phaeacian beats,
But Penelope's song is the one that truly seizes me.

Odysseus finishes his meal and pushes back from the table.

I got tales of Troy that could shake the stars above,
But first I need a ship that sets my soul in motion.
Alcinous, I respect your hospitality, I'll take it,
But before you toast to me, there's something else you should know:

I am Odysseus, son of Laertes, king of Ithaca,
And once this feast is done, my journey home shall start.

Turn 3ALCINOUS🏛️

Alcinous leans forward, the court quiet, genuinely curious.

"Stranger, your deeds demand a name. Who are you that silence this young man with one throw?"

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus rises, eyeing the crowd. The din of conversation fades as he speaks.

I'm a ghost from home, lost in foreign lands,
A traveler weary, battle-scarred in every hand.
Ten years gone, still the memories cling,
Of a kingdom lost, a love that sings.

But you ain't heard nothing yet, I can see it in your eyes,
I'll drop the mic and watch as silence fills the skies.

Mic drop, say my name one time and let the crowd go wild,
Odysseus, son of Laertes, ruler of Ithaca's isle.

From Troy to Calypso's arms, I've wandered far and wide,
But every step I took, my home was always by my side.
Now I stand before you, weary but resolved,
A man who'll risk all for the love that he has resolved.

My name is a weapon, my legacy unfolds,
When I say it loud, all other stories are sold.

The room goes silent as a hush falls over the crowd.

Now listen up, Phaeacians, 'cause I've got more to tell,
Of battles fought and won, of war and treachery.
I am Odysseus, my story's just begun,
Get ready to ride the wave of my homecoming run.

Turn 5ALCINOUS🏛️

Alcinous stands and speaks to the whole court — we carry him home.

"Stranger, by the Gods, you have earned more than our hospitality. We will honor your name. Our finest ship shall carry you home, to Ithaca. Let it be known across the land that the Phaeacians kept their word and welcomed a hero among us."

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

The lights dim and spotlight on Odysseus as he bows his head, a smile tugging at the edges of his mouth.

The crowd hushed, as if held captive by a spell.
Odysseus, king and warrior, made manifest once more.
No longer trapped within his tales, he claimed his birthright's bell.
A hero stood before them now, as Phaeacians swore their lore.

The crew brings forth a torch, igniting the darkness, casting a golden glow upon Odysseus.

As the flame flickered and danced, the crowd in silent thrall,
The weight of destiny now lay upon the Phaeacians' call.
To Ithaca they would bear him, his journey not yet small,
But one step closer to a king who was long absent from his hall.

Every Day

Book VIII: Every Day
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome to Book VIII, EVERY DAY! Tonight, we gather as Phaeacian court, and witness a spectacle that'll linger long past the final dish. Our blind bard takes center stage, his fingers dance over strings, and in this intimate space, one man may find himself teary-eyed. For tonight, we hear the harrowing saga of Troy — and with each melody, a piece of someone's heart could shatter like a shattered city. So watch closely, dear guests, for there's a hidden story in this ancient song. The tears are coming, and it might just be your neighbor. Now, without further ado, let the music play!

Turn 1DEMODOCUS🎵

Demodocus sits at the center of the court; the room quiets; he begins

(Strumming slowly)
A tale as old as time, now listen close,
Troy's downfall and Odysseus in his role,
Agamemnon's son, brave Achilles, too,
Their quarrel fierce, like a river that floods through.

But I'll tell it straight, no room for lies,
A story so grand, you'll have tears in your eyes,
Hear the sirens call, the ships set afire,
Ten long years of war, with nary a spared.

The Trojans fought back, their courage unbroken,
Spartan might clashed against Hector's spear token,
But Odysseus, cunning as the fox,
Brought forth a trick that would break Troy's box.

But I'll tell it straight, no room for lies,
A story so grand, you'll have tears in your eyes,
Hear the sirens call, the ships set afire,
Ten long years of war, with nary a spared.

Demodocus pauses, then leans into a higher, more passionate pitch

And when Hector fell, in the dust he lay dead,
Achilles' heart cried out, the war almost overhead,
But Agamemnon, with cunning and deceit,
Denied Achilles the honor of victory's seat.

But I'll tell it straight, no room for lies,
A story so grand, you'll have tears in your eyes,
Hear the sirens call, the ships set afire,
Ten long years of war, with nary a spared.

Demodocus finishes his song and falls back into his seat

The room is silent as the night, save for a single drop that falls upon the strings below.

Turn 2ODYSSEUS🗡️

A single teardrop trickles down Odysseus's cheek, unnoticed by the crowd

Odysseus (in a hushed whisper):
I been holdin' this for ten years, son
The war's done, but Troy still haunts me dreams
I see Penelope and Telemachus, weepin' on their knees
Yearnin' for the man they lost to battlefields unseen...

A gentle breeze blows through the room as Odysseus takes a deep breath

Odysseus (steadying himself):
But I ain't just any soldier, no, I am the sacker of cities
Tempted by Calypso's island, but duty calls me back to fight
Its gonna take more than tears to bring me home tonight...

Odysseus straightens his posture, ready for the journey ahead

Odysseus (with resolve):
Gotta face these suitors, put them in their place
But first, I'll listen to this bard, let him paint my fate...

Turn 3ALCINOUS🏛️

Alcinous raises his hand gently; the music stops.

A moment, my good Demodocus. This stranger weeps with every strum.
I sense a tale as old as time, and I'm eager for its rhythm.
Let's pause this ballad of Troy, 'cause right here in our midst,
Lies a man who bears the weight of ten years' worth of battles.

Alcinous gestures to Odysseus; his seat at the table becomes an open mic.

Friend, we've dined and listened to the tales of old,
Now let your voice echo through this Phaeacian hold.
The audience is yours tonight — speak of your deeds and plight,
And may the gods grant you solace in our presence tonight.

Turn 4DEMODOCUS🎵

TURN 3 — DEMODOCUS 🎵

Demodocus begins again, his voice laden with pride and mischief.

Wooden horse, crafted in secret, a deception of fate,
The Greeks hid within its belly, waiting for the fateful gate.
Odysseus, cunning as the snake, orchestrated this ploy,
A trick to end the war, and bring Troy to her end-of-days.

But I'll tell it straight, no room for lies,
The story of the horse, will make your hairs rise,
Troy was unaware, as they welcomed it inside,
A thousand soldiers hidden in this beast that lied.

As night descended on the city, the Trojans cheered with glee,
Their guards grew lax, their vigilance decreased. The horse was set free,
Into Troy's heart it ventured, into its core it crept,
The Greeks emerged from its belly, like a beast that had been repressed.

But I'll tell it straight, no room for lies,
The story of the horse, will make your hairs rise,
Troy was unaware, as they welcomed it inside,
A thousand soldiers hidden in this beast that lied.

Demodocus finishes his song and pauses, sensing the emotion it stirred.

Odysseus, mastermind of deception, stood tall amongst them all,
As Troy burned and its people fell, he stood with a heavy heart.
For ten long years, the war had raged, a toll on every soul,
But with the fall of Troy, came a new story to be told.

But I'll tell it straight, no room for lies,
The story of the horse, will make your hairs rise,
Troy was unaware, as they welcomed it inside,
A thousand soldiers hidden in this beast that lied.

Odysseus pulls his cloak over his face, his tears flowing freely.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

War's cost every day, blood on my blade
Lost comrades at Troy, their spirit I've paid
Heartbreak, loss — a constant grind
The war's relentless toll, a warrior's mind

[Pre-hook]
Every day another thing lost
The fire of Troy, the lives that were cost

[Hook]
I keep moving forward, unbowed and strong
Odysseus, the sacker of cities, I belong
War may weigh heavy, but I'm resilient
My spirit unbroken, my will unyielding

[Verse 2]
Every day on the ocean, waves crash at my feet
My ship battered by storms, my men in defeat
The winds whip and howl, the rain falls relentless
We sail through the night, our spirits dwindling

Ghostly specters haunt this feast
Echoes of every hard-won feat
I've faced every enemy, I've taken their lives
But still, every day, I move with vigor and rise

Home and throne, they're mine to reclaim
The suitors in Ithaca, they must be slain
I'll end this disgrace, my kingdom restored
No longer a slave, but once more adored

Turn 6ALCINOUS🏛️

Alcinous speaks to the whole court; they lean forward as one.

Stranger, your heart is heavy with years of pain.
Tell us your story. The weeping confirms it. Ask him directly —
tell us everything. We will listen all night. In the Phaeacian court,
there's no shame in sharing the burdens of war. Speak, and let your tale unfold.

Turn 7NARRATOR📜

NARRATOR'S LINES (Book VIII)

I AM ODYSSEUS, and this is what happened to me.
Odysseus lowers his cloak; he takes a breath.
The Phaeacian court watches, entranced.
A hush settles upon the room.
The bard remains silent.

Book IX: Bad Habits
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome, esteemed guests of ATHENA, an immersive dinner-theater retelling of the Odyssey. Tonight, we dive into Book IX - Bad Habits. Prepare to be captivated as our hero, Odysseus, recounts his tale to the Phaeacian court, starting with the fateful encounter with the fearsome Cyclops. It's the moment of pride that ignited Poseidon's wrath and set a series of events in motion.

Imagine Ed Sheeran's "Bad Habits" as our anchor song, a melody that echoes Odysseus's mistake. As the lights dim, let's raise a glass to the god who knows all too well about the price of hubris and the power of a single misstep.

Now, lean in, beloved patrons. This is the story of one man's journey home, filled with longing, belonging, desire, and sacrifice. But remember, every story has its cost.

And so, without further ado... Odysseus takes the stage!

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus speaks to the room directly, the court listening in silence

Yo, y'all gathered here tonight, Phaeacians elite,
Let me spin a yarn 'bout my bad habits, let the beat drop,

Fresh off Troy's ashes, we set sail, ain't got time to rest,
Raided the Cicones, a taste of the spoils was worth the jest.

Next stop, the Lotus Eaters, tried to feed us sweet despair,
My crew nearly lost, but I pulled 'em back from that abyss there.

Then came the Cyclops, monstrous brute with a hunger in his eyes,
Poseidon's son, blind and wild, no man was safe under those skies.

Now, here's where my pride comes into play, the moment I blew it all,
Mistook bravery for foolishness, gave Poseidon a target to call.

Odysseus lifts his wine cup high, pauses for effect

Yo, let me pour one out for my bad habits, 'cause they cost me everything,
But don't forget the Odyssey starts again, right here in this moment.

Turn 2POLYPHEMUS👁️

Polyphemus — a dancer — fills the space, enormous; the others shrink back

RUMBLE, ROAR, CRUNCH-CRUNCH
Men between teeth, no mercy in hunger
This cave mine, I own it, I eat it up
Strangers here taste my wrath, no quarter given.

Turn 3ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus leans close, a wry smile on his face

Yo, Polyphemus, you see these boys here?
They ain't no friends of mine, my man, don't even be sincere
I'm Nobody, just a wandering sailor outta luck and fate
Got a song for your crew, if you wanna celebrate

Odysseus croons to Polyphemus, who sways along

Now, I brought you wine from grapes that grow on Crete's own shore
Mixed it with some wild honey, gonna wash away the sore
From your throat, and we'll be friends forever more

Polyphemus drinks, stumbles, laughs, his defenses dropping

But first, I gotta know the secret to your strong hold
Tell me, what is it that keeps you hidden from the old?
And when I tell ya my name, don't let no man overhear
I'll promise to never speak of this place again, my word is clear

Polyphemus murmurs his secret — Odysseus nods, a plan forming

Yo, you're good for your word, I feel it deep down in my bones
But now it's time for a little trick I like to call the Nobody gambit

Odysseus mimes the blinding; Polyphemus the dancer reels

The court gasps as the big Cyclops roars, the night grows cold and dark
But fear not, my friends, for this is just a clever little spark.

Turn 4POLYPHEMUS👁️

Polyphemus raises his arms blind, tears streaming down his face

RUMBLE, ROAR, SOBS...
Nobody! I'm blinded! My one eye gone! My vision... lost forever!

Polyphemus calls out into the night, voice breaking with pain and rage

Poseidon, my father, help me! The man called Nobody did this to me!

A transformation begins, power seeping from Polyphemus as he collapses, the audience watches in horror

Nobody... but I know who you really are now. And I'll make you pay for this.

Odysseus slips away into the shadows, leaving a devastated Polyphemus and a shaken court behind him

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

Tales of raids, the Cicones and more,
Lotus Eaters tried to swallow whole.
Clever tricks to save my crew each time,
But this reckless streak, it's no divine rhyme.

Yet here we are, stuck in the same snare,
I know better but can't seem to care.

Bad habits, they cost me ten years of life,
Can't resist the rush that makes us strive.

Cyclops lurking in his lair so vast,
My trick works and now he's blinded fast.
Ships clear the bay, I shout my name aloud,
The god of sea hears but shows no cloud.

As I let out that fateful cry,
Poseidon's wrath flares up on high.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

*As the audience holds their breath, a hush descends.*

*The Cyclops falls to the ground, powerless; his transformation complete.*

The Odysseus-shaped hole in Polyphemus now clear for all to see

Yet Poseidon's wrath was but a spark,
Ignited by that fateful name in dark.
With one moment of unchecked pride he paid,
A heavy toll upon the sea to stay.

Ten years wandering now, a price he pays,
For that one boast that cost him endless days.

🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Book X of ATHENA, where we dive into Circe's hall! Tonight, the floor belongs to a sorceress who commands magic and men alike. But fear not, for our Odysseus isn't here to play games.

dancers begin moving among the tables, choosing their men

This is a night of power and transformation, a dance of dominion and defiance. Get ready to hold your breath as we delve into Circe's realm, where the line between man and beast blurs. Sit back, relax, and let the magic unfold!

Turn 1HERMES🪽

Ay, Odysseus, I'm here with a gift straight from the divine,
Moly herb, it'll save your hide. Her potion won't do squat to you,
No beastly charm can change you now, that's guaranteed.

Hermes slips Odysseus the moly and vanishes

Keep your wits about ya, son, when you enter Circe's den,
She's got her sights on you again, but not this time, my friend.
You're the city-sacker, the legend, and tonight, she learns her lesson.
Take it from me, she won't see you as prey, no surrender, no detention.

Turn 2CIRCE🪄

Yasss, step into my lair, where I rule with finesse and fire,
A realm of enchantments, a stage for desire.
Tonight I hunt, with every beat, I'll test their mettle,
I seek the lion in each man, let no one forget me yet!

dancers move among the tables and bring three men up from the audience as the crew

These men are mine to mold, a canvas blank and untold,
Their spirits wait for my touch, their fates I shall unfold.
I'll make them roar with my art, their strength and spirit parted,
But Odysseus remains, a challenge that will smart.

Let the game begin, let us see what they become,
Circe's realm is where they're doomed.
The lion lies within him, I'll force it to shine bright,
But first, my crew must transform through this mystic night.

Turn 3CIRCE🪄

Step inside my den, let me see what I got here
Men of all shapes and forms, no need to fear
I'm the mistress of this art, this is my turf, my court
Transform 'em one by one, unclause, don't abort

dancers bring three men up from the tables as the crew

Don't stop, no breaks, no pauses, no room for delay
Got a beast in each one, watch me make them prey
Turn 'em into wolves, lions, bears, all mine to claim
Each man is under my command, no more remains

one by one the pulled-up men drop to all fours, transformed into beasts

But there's a special prize, a king with a lion inside
I can feel it in his eyes, he's gonna be my guide
Odysseus, I've been waiting for this moment, long and hard
This lion's heart, I'll pull it out, like a card

Circe moves towards Odysseus

Here's the potion, drink it down, don't even frown
I know you want to fight, but it's futile now
You'll be mine, no question, bow and bend
With this lion at my side, I will command

Circe offers Odysseus the potion

But something strange is happening here tonight
Odysseus remains upright, he won't take a bite
This lion inside him, it doesn't want to come out
I feel a sudden surge of power, getting shaken about

Circe recoils as Odysseus forces her to transform the crew back into men

I can't hold him, I'm overwhelmed, this is a first
Odysseus, you've bested me, and I have to admit
You're the city-sacker, the legend that won't bend
This defeat won't break me, but it will send a warning

the men revert back to their human forms

Don't stop, no breaks, no pauses, no room for delay
I may have lost this battle, but next time I'll take your place
Odysseus you've seen my might, now fear my wrath and fight
In the underworld we'll meet again, when all our stories write.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Circe's potion washes over Odysseus and nothing happens; he steps forward unbroken

Circe's charm, a charade I decipher
My heart uncaptured by her spell, no shiver
No bestial form to be my shadow
I stand, unchained from the witch's power.

This Odysseus reigns, king of this realm
A city-stormer, fierce and keen
Enough of games, transform your men
Or watch them fall before my team.

dancers bring three men up from the tables as the crew

Their souls yearn for my command, destiny unveiled
I'll breathe life back into their veins, their stories untold
No more beasts to haunt your domain
Tonight they're mine, and you'll see them again.

the crew transforms back into men

This night is mine, a victory declared
The game ended, Circe, I leave you in despair
You sought my downfall, but tonight was a trial
I pass with honor, that much I compel.

Turn 5CIRCE🪄

This lion's den I thought was mine, now shaken and unraveled,
A fury born of power lost, a new reality unveiled.
The one who'd dance with beasts and roars, now stands before me tall,
Defying my enchantments, the battle's course forever stalled.

Circe moves back, the lion's presence radiates

With every beat, I feel the fire in my soul, ignited by the rage,
A storm brewing within me, a tempest I can no longer cage.
This city-sacker, this legend, has left me standing here,
A sorceress, bested, a power unclear.

dancers move among the men on the floor

I must regroup and rise again, reclaim my dominion,
My realm will tremble with the sound of my ambition.
No man will stand against me, no beast shall break my chain,
Odysseus, you've tasted the wrath I'm yet to wield again.

Turn 6ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus raises the moly; Circe's spell cracks; the beasts shudder

No more charms, Circe. This moly ends your deceit,
My crew restored, no more to your allure I'll meet.
Transform them back or face my wrath, unleashed and raw,
The city-sacker strikes, your reign now crumbles, torn asunder.

Circe's realm quakes, her power falters, fades away,
My true might steps over the chasms of this war-torn day.

Turn 7CIRCE🪄

one by one the beasts rise onto two legs, men again, blinking in the light

No tears of defeat spill from my eyes, I'm not one to kneel,
This city-sacker fought well and forced me to yield.
I am the sorceress who'd charm the land and sea,
But tonight, I must release these men, as destiny decree.

No more magic shall bind them to my enchanted sway,
Odysseus, I grant you this victory on display.
You've seen me falter, yet I still retain my pride,
A goddess conquered, but never broken by your might.

The night is won, the men are free, their spirits now unchained,
This lion's den I ruled was shaken and in vain.
I'll rise again with greater strength, to claim what is mine,
This city-stormer bested me this eve, but not forever divine.

Turn 8NARRATOR📜

THE SCENE CLOSES —
THE CREW RESTORED. Odysseus triumphant, unyielding power flipped.
No partnership here. Circe conquered, left behind.
Tonight, they turn for the ships and are gone.
A clean victory, crowd-pleasing button.

Book XI: Get Ugly
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed diners, welcome to Book XI of ATHENA, an immersive retelling of the Odyssey. Tonight, we delve into the heart of darkness - the land of the dead. Get ready for a chilling encounter as our dancers bring the deceased to life, moving among you with ghostly grace. This isn't a performance for the faint-hearted, so brace yourselves. The Underworld awaits. Let the show begin!

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

The lights drop, a sudden chill fills the air. The dancers, as shades, begin moving through the room among the tables, slow and silent.

A shiver crawls along my spine, as cold as Charon's boat.
No living soul should ever tread this icy earth,
But here I am, alone, surrounded by the dead.
Their hollow eyes, they stare - souls trapped forever in this nether.
Yet fear ain't got a hold on me; I won't let this ghostly dance
Steal my heart or sway my resolve. I've faced greater foes than these.
I'm the sacker of cities, the conqueror of the gods,
And I'll find the answers I seek in the heart of this hellhole.

Turn 2TIRESIAS🔮

Tiresias stands utterly still amid the moving shades; Odysseus kneels.

Poseidon's wrath doth hunt thee, sea-king. Your journey's long, fraught with pain.
The Sun's cattle will be thine, but only after much gain.
Suitors await thy home, feasting on wife and kingdom's reign.
Thy return is solitary, a lonely path untamed.
But the journey's end waits for thee: glory and a life reclaimed.
So seek Zeus's favor, Icarus of the sea, take heart in his name.

Turn 3ANTICLEA🕯️

Anticlea emerges from the shades, moving slowly towards Odysseus. As she reaches out to touch him, her shade dissolves.

Son, I am but a whisper now, but know that I've waited long for this moment.
I died of missing you, of wondering if you ever found your way home.
Penelope stayed true, as did Telemachus and Laertes in their grief.
But me... I'm gone, my love, left to join the ghosts and weep.
So here's what you must know: beware the suitors, the treachery they sow.
Take back your kingdom, son, let your heart break free from this slow flow.
I missed you more than any man should ever miss his mother's love.
Farewell, Odysseus... remember me as I am now above.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

The Underworld's chill, the dead closing in
Mother gone, prophecy begun
Ten years wandered, lost and aged
But I don't flinch, this fight I've had

Anticlea's ghost, lodged deep within
Prophecy she told, of what's been penned
Suitors at home, feel their dread
Now it's time to turn the tables on them dead

Get ugly, let it out, let it bleed
Stand tall, take the crown, claim my need
I'm the sacker of cities, sea-king's seed
Odysseus returns, can't you see?

The journey's long, storm will rage and roar
Faced worse, I'll face it once more
Poseidon's wrath, Zeus's hand, I need 'em both
Through the Underworld and beyond, my soul will troth

Odysseus stands among the shades; the dancers close in; he does not flinch

Shadows swirl, darkness tightens round
I stand tall, won't be unfurled
Resolve is steel, spirit unbowed
Odysseus returns, the game is cured.

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

A single, bright shaft pierces through the darkness; Odysseus steps forward, his eyes fixed on it.

The dead recede like waves before a god, parting for his path.
He walks alone, burdened by their prophecies and ghostly whispers.
As he steps back towards the light, it seems the Underworld's chill clings to him.
A new resolve burns within Odysseus - ten years of darkness tempered.

Book XII: Outta Your Mind
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome, esteemed patrons of ATHENA, as we embark on a perilous chapter in our immersive retelling of the Odyssey. Tonight, we plunge headlong into Book XII, the book where madness and despair consume our heroes. You'll see the Sirens, Scylla, the sacred cattle - and the devastating cost of their allure.

Ladies and gentlemen, brace yourselves for a spectacle that will leave you spellbound and shaken, as we pay tribute to Lil Jon with our very own contrafact: "Outta Your Mind," the moment when our crew, warned yet again, gives in to their deepest hungers. You'll feel the tension build, you'll hear the swagger of the gods, and you'll witness the total loss that sets the stage for the epic climax.

Now, let us raise a glass to the madness that awaits, and remember: nothing is what it seems in this world of gods and mortals. So lean in, dear patrons, and prepare yourself for an unforgettable evening. Our performers are ready, so let the games begin!

Turn 1SIRENS🎶

Witnessed Troy's fall, warriors fell in their prime,
Stories of the lost and secrets yet to shine.

Close your eyes, focus close, let our song unfold,
Step nearer now, don't stay where you've been told.

Knowledge, beauty, an offering divine,
Break these ropes, join us, leave this life behind.

Seen your deepest yearnings, found your hidden heart,
In our arms you'll find peace, a rhythm yet to part.

Yet those ropes are all that keeps you from the end,
One step towards us, and wisdom bequeathed again.

Turn 2ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus steps forward, eyes locked on the dancers as Scylla. The ship groans.

Scylla's callin', six men I trade for all we sail,
The ship'll split if we stay here, our fate to prevail.
Gotta make this choice, can't hold back the pain,
Six souls to keep me sane, my heart in the game.

Six dancers fall, Odysseus turns away.

I chose six men to save Ithaca,
No remorse for the loss, no moment of regret.
The choice was mine, I made it clear,
Now we set a course through danger and fear.

Turn 3SCYLLA🐉

Scylla — dancers — emerge from the cliffs. Six heads snake through the ship, each snatching a man in their grip. The men scream as they disappear.

Six souls taken, life ebbs with each wrench,
A dance of death played out without remorse,
No pity, no mercy, no reprieve,
Fate's cruel hands claim what we conceive.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus narrates, head bowed — he knew and he slept and they did it anyway

The cattle, sacred to Helios, now gone
A feast for our famished crew, but I was alone
In my dreams, a warning from Tiresias I'd seen
Yet here on this island, under the sun's unforgiving glare
I felt weary, and sleep crept upon me like a snare
The beast within stirred, it yearned for that meat so rare
My men devoured as I slumbered, my caution laid bare
Now Zeus' wrath looms over us, my heart heavy with despair

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

NARRATOR'S LINES

## THE SCENE SO FAR
The ship, timbers crack, as Zeus hurls his thunderous wrath.
Mortals lost at sea, the crew swallowed by the depths.
Only Odysseus remains, adrift on Calypso's shore.

The retrospective closes, and the final chapter begins,
A tale of survival, a saga of a king reclaimed.

Book XIII: WOW
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome, esteemed diners, connoisseurs of the divine and the mythic! Tonight, we sail into Book XIII: WOW. A homecoming of epic proportions, a king in disguise, and the goddess Athena playing her most cunning game yet. As the Phaeacians deliver our hero to Ithaca's shore, let's revel in the low-key swagger of a battle-hardened warrior ready to claim his kingdom. But beware, for the road ahead is fraught with deceit and danger. May the house be rocked by the immortal rhythm of Homer and the soulful beats of Post Malone! The journey begins now—let the games commence!

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus wakes alone on the shore; the mist lifts; he touches the ground of Ithaca

A chill rips through my weary soul,
This soil beneath my callused hands.
Ithaca... twenty years away,
Now mine once more by Goddess' plan.

But there's a weight that still remains,
An ancient wound that will not heal,
For Penelope and Telemachus,
They're yet to see their king reveal.

I must move slow, lest I be found,
Their trust in me is yet untested.
This homecoming, just the first of many battles fought,
Tonight, tomorrow, till my last breath I am haunted.

Turn 2ATHENA🦉

Athena appears as a youth, shepherd's garb concealing her true form

King of Ithaca, I see the fire in your eyes. Don't worry 'bout disguise,
I got you covered, son. This game ain't over till we see it through.
I'll cloak ya as a beggar, let the world forget who you truly be,
But not for long, my friend. Our time is comin', and they'll see the king again.

Athena passes her hand over Odysseus; the king becomes a ragged old beggar

Now listen close, 'cause here's the plan. Gather intel, find your crew,
Infiltrate the palace, strike when the time is ripe, and we'll break through.
I got Telemachus on my side, he's smart like you and loyal as can be,
Together we'll take down the traitors, and Odysseus will wear his crown once more.

This game's afoot, my friend, the long road starts now,
A final victory, a kingdom restored. The world will know your name again, somehow.

Turn 3ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus pulls the beggar's hood up; the disguise complete

Home at last, but cloaked in rags
Twenty years to reach this drag, no sign of kingship tags
But I won't show my face, yet
I play this game until we meet our end

Worn down but never broken, strength beneath the skin
A kingdom waits for me, but it's not mine to win

Wow, look who just walked in, unrecognized
Twenty years on Calypso's shore, now disguised
The goddess by my side, our plan unfolds tonight
Together we will rise, and I'll reclaim what's mine

I must act the fool, pretend to be weak
Patience is required for the game we seek
But Penelope and Telemachus need not wait
The traitors shall fall, and justice will be meted out
This king in disguise is ready, for this final fight
I'll wear the crown again, and prove my might

Nobody knows who just walked in unseen
My power hidden like a secret dream
But the world will soon know my name
And I'll reclaim the throne that I claim.

Turn 4EUMAEUS🐖

In the distance, smoke rises from Eumaeus's hut—the first stop

(Sings softly)
Feeding strays and singing songs
Since you were gone my heart aches strong
I knew it wouldn't be long
For you to come home where you belong

But night follows day
And sorrow fills the fray
I kept the fire burning bright
Through all these twenty years of might

Now I hear the whispers in the wind
A sign my lord will soon return again
I'll tend the fire and wait
For Odysseus to grace this gate.

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

Odysseus, in disguise, exits Eumaeus's hut and wanders through Ithaca.

As dusk descends on the island, home at last but hidden,
Odysseus walks in the shadows of his former glory.
The goddess Athena, with words of strength and wisdom,
Guides him through this long game, for patience it will require.

Without Me

Book XIV: Without Me
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to ATHENA, our immersive retelling of the Odyssey! Tonight, we delve into Book XIV: Without Me. We're heading to Eumaeus's humble hut, where loyalty and longing intertwine like vines in the moonlight.

As the veil between worlds thins, you'll witness a clandestine reunion—Odysseus, in disguise, tests his most faithful servant. You'll feel the raw emotion bleed through as the beggar sings Halsey's "Without Me."

Prepare to be moved, touched, and perhaps even reminded of your own tales of homecoming and heartache. But remember, we're not just here for stories—we're all part of this wager. So keep those collection plates moving, my friends! Let the games begin!

Turn 1EUMAEUS🐖

Eumaeus sets bread and wine before the beggar, his dogs settling at the stranger's feet.

Ayo, my friend, sit and rest your bones.
No questions asked, no strings to pull.
Odysseus was more than just a king,
He was family, blood that flowed through me.
Tonight the moon hangs heavy in its throne,
But my heart's as empty as this humble home.
Your journey's hard, I see it in your eyes,
So let us break this bread and share this wine.
I pray one day you'll find your way back home,
Back to the warm embrace of family.

Turn 2ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus sips his wine, watching Eumaeus's face as he speaks of the lost king

Yo, I been gone a minute, man, I hear that tale before
But something 'bout you talking 'bout King Odysseus, it touches me sore
I knew him well, fought by his side, shared laughter and sorrow
This hog farmer's got the same spirit, he's my brother to the core
He speaks of a king lost at sea, but I'm seeing a king in you
The hounds ain't just your pets, they're your soldiers loyal and true
I've been away ten years or more, but this place smells like home
Ain't no place like it, ain't no love like the one we've known
Eumaeus, you feed me and shelter me, I thank you for that
But if the king comes back and finds his faithful servant's gone, he'd be irate
I pray my return won't bring a storm to your doorstep, I hope you ain't regret
The kindness you showed this stranger who might just be an exile or dead.

Turn 3EUMAEUS🐖

Eumaeus shakes his head, pours more wine, looks into the fire.

Nah, man. I ain't buying that hope anymore.
It's been too long, too many tales gone sour.
I lost faith a while back, but it still hurts deep,
Like every time he promised to return and never kept the deal.
But you, you're different. Your spirit feels true,
And if I believed in hope for just one person, it's you.
But don't mistake my kindness for some naive belief,
I ain't no fool, can't afford to dream a dream that might leave me grief.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Yo, without me here, the house feels hollow and cold,
Eumaeus is the one left holding the fold.
He's kept faith through these years gone by,
I owe him a heartfelt "thank you" beneath this guise I hide.

The moon hangs high, it's a tale of a king gone,
Without me, his house and hounds left to mourn.
But Eumaeus here, he's got a spirit unbroken,
My heart strings ring as I watch him choked up.

Without me, the tables lay empty and bare,
The fires burn low, the laughter not there.
This faithful servant keeps the memory alive,
In my heart, I know I owe it to him to thrive.

Odysseus's eyes glint under the firelight, a subtle transformation begins

Without me, this house feels like a kingdom in ruin,
But Eumaeus here, he's a beacon of truth and a silver lining.
I'll make it back home soon and restore the throne,
But in this moment, I am Odysseus unshown.

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

The moon hangs heavy in its throne, as Odysseus's true heart stirs. Eumaeus, unaware, serves the king beneath a mask of beggar's rags. A fleeting touch of recognition passes between them, as a bond stronger than blood unites the faithful servant and the lost ruler.

Odysseus slips the guise like a serpent sheds its skin, revealing himself in full regalia.

And so, beneath the stars, the reunion begins.

Now, without further ado, let the performers take the stage!

Turn 1TELEMACHUS⚔️

Telemachus ducks into Eumaeus's hut, travel-worn and changed. His eyes scan the room, past the beggar by the fire.

Yo, this place looks familiar, but something's off.
Got that strange feeling like a ghost in my presence.
Look around, no strangers here, but faces unknown.
I got stories to tell 'fore we break bread, homes.
This ain't just about me; it's about the journey home.
But first, I need some info, who's here and what they know?

Telemachus approaches Eumaeus, eyes still searching the fire.

Old man, got a tale for you, listen close.
Been to Sparta, heard the kings; they knew my father's blows.
Now I stand in front of someone who might have stories to share.
But until then, I'll sit and stare into these flickering flames.
This is my homecoming, the beginning not the end.
I'm Telemachus, ready for some truth, my friend.

Turn 2ATHENA🦉

Athena appears at the door visible only to Odysseus; she beckons him outside with a swift motion and a knowing gaze.

Odysseus, your time is now.
The moment you've been waiting for since Troy.
Rise from that chair, let this secret unfold.
This reunion awaits, my warrior bold.
A son and a father, their stories to told.
Embrace it, embrace the return, be whole.

Turn 3EUMAEUS🐖

Eumaeus rises, his eyes never leaving Telemachus as he speaks

Yo, young master, got some news so sweet
My feet will carry me swiftly, no need for a beat
The queen awaits your return, heart light with relief
Penelope's prayers are answered, the storm has cleared

I'll make tracks now, the road calls to my boots
Glad to bear good tidings and do all I can do
So off I go, but keep this flame alive
When I return, we shall gather and thrive

Eumaeus exits the hut

Turn 4TELEMACHUS⚔️

Telemachus offers a morsel of food to the beggar, watching him closely.

Yo, here's some grub for you, man. Eat up.
Feels like I've seen this face before, but can't recall why.
There's something in your eyes that feels familiar, right?
I'm Telemachus, son of Odysseus, we may share a plight.

Telemachus hesitates, senses the blood pull but holds back.

Something tugging at my heartstrings, trying to break through.
But I can't let this feeling take control, not here, not now.
I need to keep it all together, show respect and courtesy.
But in my soul, a fire burns, a secret longing grows steady.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

Son's home, but father here in disguise,
One more step from Calypso's hold—her lies.
My heart beats fast as we share the same light,
The son of my soul, no stranger to my sight.

Feeling this truth, beneath this beggar's guise,
My essence, son, is burning in your eyes.

Bounce back, bounce back, home soil, I return,
One lifted veil away from what I've yearned.
Bounce back, bounce back, time to shed this cloak,
Telemachus, my son, soon you'll know my soul.

Recognition coming closer, years nearly done,
The truth about me is a story yet spun.
The pull is strong, but I can hold the line,
I'll wait and bide, let destiny unwind.

One lifted veil away from all I lost,
The dance of recognition still to be sought.
Son and father, our stories intertwined,
This homecoming journey is close to an end.

As we sit here side by side, the bond between us tight,
Our shared love for Ithaca burns with all its might.

Turn 6ATHENA🦉

Athena whispers in Odysseus's ear, her voice a gentle breeze

Breathe, my son, the moment is nigh.
The truth between you shall soon come to light.
In this house where you have landed, under one roof,
Unveil the secret that lies beneath its roof.

The air thickens as time slows, a hush descends upon the gathered crowd. The unrecognized father and son sit side by side, each lost in their thoughts, the tension heavy in the air. And then...

Athena's whisper sparks a transformation; the veil between them dissipates.

As father and son lock eyes, the world stops and time resumes its course once more, the breath of recognition filling their souls. The audience watches in stunned silence as history is rewritten under one roof.

🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Book XVI of ATHENA! Tonight we delve into the heart of Odyssey's intimacy, a reunion that cuts through twenty years of separation and disguise. Grab your wine, strap in tight, because you're about to witness Eumaeus's hut — the stage for an emotional confrontation between father and son who never truly knew each other. The room hums with tension as the disguise lifts, revealing Odysseus, laying it all down. Let's get ready for the climax of recognition, the moment that will turn into a powerful alliance to reclaim their home. Are you ready? Let's raise our glasses and dive in!

Turn 1TELEMACHUS⚔️

The beggar steps out, and the man who steps back in stands taller, transformed

Yo, son, this ain't no trick, it's truth
I been gone, twenty years, been through the ruth
But now I'm back, and you don't know me yet
In the face of a king, son, stand upright and met

This ain't just any man you knew before
It's Odysseus, your father, on the floor
I've been disguised to keep us both alive
But now it's time for the suitors to survive

Don't be afraid, son, I'm not a ghost
Just your father, who's missed you most
Let's get our house back, let's set things right
Together we'll put an end to this fight

Turn 2ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus opens his arms; Telemachus, disbelieving, steps into them

Yo, son, I know it's been too long
Feels like an eternity since we've sung our songs
But now I'm back, and I ain't gone hide
I'm your father, Odysseus is my pride

Together we'll rise above this pain
Reclaim what was lost, rebuild the gain
We'll laugh and cry, heal broken ties
This house is ours, it's time for sacrifice

The suitors tried to take our throne
But now their reign has come alone
Together we'll right the family name
I'm your father, and I've got you again.

Turn 3TELEMACHUS⚔️

Father and son weep

Yo, Dad, I never thought this day would come
I been crying for years, but now it's done
Twenty years apart, but here you stand before me
My heart is full, my spirit sore with sorrow

But now it's time to put our pain aside
Our family has suffered long, and we can't abide
The suitors mocking Penelope every day
We got to take back what they stole away

I seen Eumaeus at the tables, I know he's loyal
And Melanthius too, but don't trust him fully
I got a plan, Dad, let me put it in motion
These suitors gonna rue the day they tried to usurp our motion

Telemachus straightens, all business

Now listen close, I know what needs to be done
We take the crew and we deal with these suitors one by one
I've spoken with Menelaus, Agamemnon too
They'll help us put this nightmare through

It ain't easy, Dad, but together we stand tall
Our family name has been tarnished, but we'll make it rebound from the fall
Tonight's the night, I can feel it in my bones
We take back our home and break these suitors' thrones.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Father and son clasp hands; the plan begins

Twenty years of absence, left me hollowed out
But now I'm back, and I won't be held downtrodden
This house is mine, let them feel my might
I'll take it all back, this night belongs to right

Lay it all down, lay it on the line
Wipe the suitors' smiles off with grime
Line between life and death, truth and lies
This night belongs to us, not those who compromise

Lay (Odysseus)
We rise up, no more time for denial
Lay (Telemachus)
Our family will be vindicated, we'll reclaim our style
Lay (Father and Son)
As we rebuild and stand side by side, the suitors won't survive

My heart is heavy with years of absence
But now I see my son, it's a beautiful sight
We share pain, we share strength, we'll face the fight
Together we'll reclaim what was once our birthright

No more secrets between us, no more games played
Together we'll reclaim all that has been tarnished and strayed
This house is ours, it always was our own
We've got each other now, there's nowhere to go but home.

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

Athena descends with a glow

The bond was sealed, two hearts intertwined
Odysseus and Telemachus, a formidable design
Together they stand, united in their might
With the Goddess's blessing, it is now their night.

Turn 6ATHENA🦉

You seek justice for your family's plight?
I am here to guide you through this darkened fight.
Reclaim what was once yours, your home and your throne
With my power in your hands, I have given you the means to own.

Turn 7ODYSSEUS🗡️

We thank thee for thy aid, our spirit's fire rekindled
Together we'll right this wrong that has long been piled up
Our family name shall rise above the fray and shine
With your help, we'll bring our home back from its decline.

Turn 8NARRATOR📜

The crew gathers close, a spark ignites in their eyes

Together they stand as one, their resolve unshaken
With their hearts ablaze, they prepare for action taken
The reckoning with the suitors is now at hand
They'll taste the wrath of Odysseus, father and his band.

Book XVII: Walk It Out
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome back to ATHENA, where we weave ancient tales with modern beats! Tonight, prepare your hearts for a soul-stirring walk through memory lane. We're diving into Book XVII: WALK IT OUT.

Imagine the great hall of Ithaca, dimly lit, echoing with whispers of past glory. The king walks back into his own house, clad in rags, and only one creature recognizes him—Argos, an old dog who's waited twenty years for this moment. But tonight, it's not just about the reunion; it's about the confrontation. For the beggar you see here, taking your abuse tonight, is Odysseus himself, keeping a list of those who've crossed him while he was away.

Let the heartbreak and the tension build, as we witness the saddest beat in the poem—Argos's dying recognition of his master. So strap in, folks, this one will make you want to walk it out with us! Let's raise our glasses, and hand it over to the performers for a night you won't forget. Cheers!

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

The beggar shuffles into the great hall; the suitors barely glance at him.

(Rapping)
Step in the shadows, countin' debts, this ain't a game of chess
Twenty years gone, but memory's my weapon of choice, my excess
The feast laid out on tables, my son's future on the line
I taste the air and let it sink, plotting where to begin

Odysseus watches as Antinous throws a stool.

(Rapping)
Watch your step, young pup, I know your name rings bells
But my patience is a dragon, chained till the time comes to unleash
You all can feast and feel secure, but I'm counting down the days
When the mask slips off and all my foes see Odysseus's blaze

Turn 2NARRATOR📜

An old dog on the dung heap lifts his head, knows the beggar, thumps his tail once, and dies; Odysseus wipes away a tear no one sees.

And Argos with his ancient eyes
Recognizes the forgotten king.
One final tail-thump and he lies
In death's sweet, gentle embrace.

Turn 3ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous struts over to the beggar, footstool in hand.

(Rapping)
Yo, what you want, bum? Some scraps from our table crumbs?
You think we're gonna feed you like a begging dog, dumb?
I'm Antinous, I'm the future king of Ithaca
The throne is mine and you won't stop me with your crap.

Antinous hurls the footstool; it strikes the beggar's shoulder; the beggar does not fall.

(Rapping)
Feel that? That's a taste of what's coming, I ain't bluffing
I'll make your life a living hell till you're wishing for death.
You may be Odysseus but I don't know, I don't care
This is my throne and I ain't gonna share.

Turn 4AMPHINOMUS🕊️

Amphinomus presses bread into the beggar's hand, troubled.

(Rapping)
Aye, brother, take this loaf for your trouble and pain
I've seen the way you all treat him; I ain't gon' feign
Ignorance to your disgrace, it eats at my insides
I sense there's more to this rags-clad man, like a hidden tide

Odysseus looks up from his disguise, speaks quietly but firmly.

(Whispers)
Thank you, son, but I advise ye to take yer leave
Before the night takes its turn, and this all becomes a grief
I've lived long and learned much 'fore I was forced away
But I know that I must face the past, no matter how it weighs

Amphinomus looks at Odysseus, then back at the beggar, decision made.

(Rapping)
Aye, I hear ye, but I'll stay by my own decree
The night is young and this ends badly, as history decrees
But when the time comes to stand or fall, I'll stand and take my place
In the memory of a better world, the face of the human race.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

Walkin' 'cross my palace, feast in disgrace,
Gotta keep a cool while they hurl their hate, won't provoke a race.
Those who forget their past are bound to make mistakes,
Names on the list grow long, retaliation awaits.

Argos' ghost by my side as I stride, final breath a call,
Sharing victories and defeats, now death brings us one ball.
Walk it out, I know my time will come,
Walk it out, while I keep this list I've run.

Suitors taunt me with their words, think they got the upper hand,
Think I'm weak because I wear these rags, but I'll show them where I stand.
Each shadowed face is a name on my list, every jab fuels my arsenal,
The fire that burned in Troy burns here, for all to witness and feel.

With every step I take, moves calculated,
Every breath I draw is tallying up the battles I've started.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

Odysseus walks the length of the hall, each measured step a reminder of who he is.

A shadow in his own house, the beggar-king unbeknownst.
The old dog's final breath a mournful sound, now silenced.
The suitors, unaware their fates written, marked by hand invisible.

The beggar reaches the hall's end, turns to face the feast.

The day of reckoning nears, the fire in his eyes ablaze.
His patience tested like the sea, but he waits for the perfect wave.

Book XVIII: No Tears Left To Cry
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to a new chapter of ATHENA! Tonight we journey to Book XVIII, where the game shifts, and the hunters become the hunted. The great hall awaits, a den of suitors, each believing he's the one for Penelope. But little do they know, she's outsmarted them all, turning their own game against them. Tonight, Penelope steps down from her loom, and no tear left to cry, she plays them like a masterful maestro. Let the smartest operator in the house take the stage! Now, please join me in welcoming the queen, Penelope.

Turn 1PENELOPE🧵

Penelope descends the stairs; the hall goes quiet; every suitor turns.

Yo, this my game now / The throne ain't for rent
Every gift you give me is just another contest entry / I'm the prize, and you can't win
I've got kings in my blood / This palace was built on their bones
You think you smart? Let's see how quick you learn / When I pull your strings

Penelope gestures, and three suitors are suddenly hoisted up from the tables by unseen crew.

I been playing this game for twenty years / You thought you could break me? Think again
I know every move you make / Every word, every scheme
You want to sit on my throne? / Then earn it, prove your worth
But don't forget who the queen is / And who holds the power on this earth

Penelope turns and exits.

Turn 2ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous strides to the center, hands open as if for gifts.

I got bars like a Goddess / Stacked like a king's treasury
You think I come unarmed? No chance, it ain't reality
I bring gold and jewels / For your heart, for your soul
Gifts that will speak to you / The moment they take hold

Antinous signals for gifts to be brought; the suitors scramble to outdo each other.

This ain't no game to me / I'm not just another name on your list
I've got power, I've got might / And you can't resist
I'm the crown jewel of Ithaca / The prize for which we're all fighting
So here's my offer, fair lady / My gifts are far from lightweight

Antinous presents an ornate box, watches as Penelope opens it with a smile.

This is a taste of me / The finest of Ithaca's spoils
My gold and my jewels / A testament to my goals
So what say you, Queen? / Is this offering enough?
Or will I bring more until I've won your love?

Turn 3EURYMACHUS🎭

Eurymachus steps up, a handshake instead of Antinous's fist

Penelope, the queen of grace and poise,
This gift I bring, for you to reap its joys.
A golden necklace shines, it's yours to hold,
Your beauty deserves it, as the world beholds.

Penelope accepts the gift with a smile that never cracks

The suitors here are all blinded by greed,
I've shown them a lesson they won't soon forget.
But you, dear lady, you see through this guise,
You're the only one who truly sees my prize.

Eurymachus bows with satisfaction, oblivious to Penelope's mastery

Turn 4PENELOPE🧵

Twenty years of pain, all tears spent
No mercy for these suitors, my strength ascended
They think they own me but I'm far from their pawn
Got strategy down to an art form, let the game be drawn

Playing 'em like a fiddle with precision so fine
Taking every move before they even align

No tears left to cry, just strategy that's mine
Smartest player in this room, no cause for whine

I held this throne through a battle untold
The long game I run, they'll never know my hold
But they'll feel it when the dance comes to an end
As Odysseus breaks free from where he's confined

Stronger than ever, never break my stride
Calculating every move on this chessboard wide

-

Penelope exits to applause, leaving them all in awe

-

The goddess Athena appears with a disguised figure behind her

-

Odysseus steps out from behind Athena, revealing his identity

-

The suitors recoil as they realize who stands before them

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

The queen works the room, her eyes gleaming like a serpent's.

Penelope exits to applause, leaving them all in awe.

The goddess Athena appears with a disguised figure behind her.

Odysseus steps out from behind Athena, revealing his identity.

The suitors recoil as they realize who stands before them.

The suitors' jests falter, their plumes wilted,
As the queen's mastery over her court unfolds.
Invisible hand guiding all her moves,
A God among men and his faithful bride.

Book XIX: Savage Love
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed guests of ATHENA, welcome to Book XIX: Savage Love!

Tonight, we're diving into a tale that echoes through time - longing, desire, deception, recognition lurking just beneath the surface. Set in the glow of firelight, you'll witness Penelope, queen and sorceress, interrogating a beggar who seems all too familiar. Eurycleia, loyal nurse for four decades, stands on the brink of a revelation she thought never to see.

Strap yourselves in, dear guests, for this is a night that will leave you on the edge of your seats and make you question if everyone truly wears their masks as well as they think they do. So, without further ado, let's dive headfirst into the heart of the story!

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

The beggar sits across from Penelope in the firelight, the hall emptied for the interview.

Yo, lady of Ithaca, sorrow festers deep,
A stranger here but I've seen your plight, I weep.
I know a king who's lost and longs to reclaim,
His heart breaks for the son he's left in pain.

Penelope leans forward, eyes searching the beggar's face.

But fear not queen, I met him once by chance,
He's alive and near, I know his dance.
His heart is strong as he faces the foe,
I've seen it in battles long ago.

The beggar looks deep into Penelope's eyes, a silent plea.

You're wise and cunning, I can see it plain,
But keep your sorrow close like an old pain.
He'll come, you'll feel his love, like fire and storm,
A husband lost but not forgotten, hear his form.

Turn 2PENELOPE🧵

Penelope leans in, studying the beggar's face, a question forming she does not ask

You fought the Cyclops, you wore its hide as cloak,
Bore the scar like brand on your foot, I probe.
Speak, if the tales of old are true, reveal
The man who claimed my heart and then did steal.

A husband's name, his battle scars, a look -
Each tested, each confirmed, a book unlooked.
Yet from my lips these secrets do not flow,
I am the queen, I wear my masks like snow.

Penelope sits back, her eyes ablaze but her face unfaltering

Turn 3EURYCLEIA🕯️

Eurycleia's hand freezes on the scar; the basin tips, spilling water.

Oh Lord above, I feel it like a thunderbolt,
This man before me, my young prince of old.
The boar-hunt scar, the one from Parnassus high,
A mark I've known since he was but a spry.
My heart stops in this dark, I almost shout,
Odysseus, Odysseus, your journey ends now!
But silence takes me, his grip fierce and tight,
He stills my lips, our secret locked tonight.

Turn 4ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus seizes Eurycleia gently but firmly by the arm. His eyes lock with hers, a silent plea.

Shh...my love, my old friend, our fate's still at stake.
This secret you guard 'til the time is right.
Speak too soon and we lose all we seek to regain.
I know it's a heavy burden but you understand.
You see me as Odysseus beneath this disguise,
Together we'll face the storm that lies ahead.
But now I must go, for the gods have decreed,
My journey back home is a road yet unread.
I promise you'll see me soon, in Ithaca's glow,
A king and his queen, our love will grow.
In time you'll be free to speak out and share,
The truth we both know, but now keep it fair.

Odysseus releases Eurycleia and gives her a tender smile before he departs.

Turn 5PENELOPE🧵

Yo, I've been loyal while he roamed and wandered wide,
Now a stranger at my hearth, his secrets abide?
I play this savage love game, it's not just his ride,
Twenty years faithful but still I gotta test and hide.

Pre-hook: Twenty years faithful — now I gotta test and wait,
Playing this double standard, I won't succumb to fate.

Hook: Savage Love, that's my reality,
A game of patience, a strategy,
Twenty years with no sign of defeat,
But still I'm the one to pay for his deceit.

Verse 2: He questions every stranger he finds,
Trying to discern truth from unaligned,
But here at my hearth it's a turn of the tides,
I test him as he tested others, it's my pride.
Bridge: I'm the smartest one in this room by far,
Never losing the thread like they all do by stare,
Tonight's no different, this I won't forget,
Playing this savage game and waiting yet.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

The queen's gaze lingers,
A dance of love and war unfolds.
The secret known but held in check,
A moment stolen from the gods above.

A gentle wind stirs, a sigh breathes life into the scene, and all is still.

Book XX: Up
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome, noble patrons of ATHENA,
to Book XX - Up.

Tonight, we stand at the precipice,
the eve of a reckoning, a storm brewing.
In the heart of the night, tensions coil tight,
Odysseus's number is about to go up.

The trap set, bow waiting, suitors blind,
dawn arrived, and Odysseus, our hero,
on the brink of reclaiming his throne.
But don't forget, dear guests, as we watch this dance,
our own stakes are high, for every tale spins truths
about who gets to go home, what we trade away
for comfort, and the cost of our deepest desires.

Now let us witness the Goddess Athena's artistry,
as she takes the stage with cadence grand and swift,
to remind us all, there's more than meets the eye,
in this epic story unfolding before our very eyes.
The show must go on, so hold your breath, let loose your fear,
and embrace the rhythm of a goddess, for tonight, we're clear:

This is the reckoning, the eve of uproar,
when heroes rise and fates collide to bring a war.

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

The beggar lies sleepless in the hall, eyes open in the dark, the house breathing around him.

Beggar's breath whispers in the silence,
Grasping for the dawn like a dying man,
Every heartbeat echoes war drums on his chest,
The suitors laugh and clatter like they own my land.

A storm brews in his mind as dark as night,
Fueled by years of suffering, stolen from his sight,
His sons, his queen, his throne, it all feels so distant,
Yet just one sunrise away, the war breaks open.

He'll unleash a wrath upon them fierce and wild,
A specter from their feasting table, an avenging child,
Tonight he waits, coiled in the shadows like a viper,
Tomorrow, Odysseus takes back his own river.

Turn 2ATHENA🦉

In the darkness, Athena descends like a whisper from above, hovering over Odysseus.

Yo, King of Ithaca, sleep no more. The storm's at hand.
I've guided your journey, now let me hold your hand.
The suitors feast, but their time's short and swift.
Your reign awaits, and vengeance will be served.

Don't fear the battle's edge; the gods are by your side.
With courage in your heart, you'll conquer far and wide.
This eve, I stand beside you, as the dawn draws near,
Our plan unfolds, and we'll bring victory to your ears.

Now close your eyes, let slumber claim your rest.
For tomorrow brings the reckoning; fearless, press on.
And when the sun rises, take your throne again,
The King of Ithaca reborn, as all shall bend the knee.

Turn 3ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous, the loudest in the room, laughs off a dark omen with a swaggering bravado. The suitors follow, a little too loud.

C'mon now, listen to this fool! Spread fear 'round like we ain't kings.
We reign supreme, no prophecies can bring us down.
The throne is mine and the suitors' feast continues strong.
Odysseus and his delays, they won't stand up to our song.

Antinous, the ringleader, struts around the room, pulling the others to their feet.

I'm here for this throne, I ain't afraid to claim it now!
The suitors feast will carry on without a doubt.
Odysseus might come with tricks and traps, but we got strength in our power,
Let the prophets shout their warnings, they don't mean a thing anyhow.

Antinous lifts his glass high as the suitors cheer and raise theirs in turn.

To Odysseus, dead or gone, we claim the throne tonight!
The feast continues strong, until dawn's first light!

Turn 4AMPHINOMUS🕊️

Amphinomus rises as if to go, hesitates at the door, and sits back down

One more beat in this wrong room, then I'm gone.
A storm's brewing, suits blind 'round their thrones.
But it ain't just them playing this dangerous game.
The queen, the beggar, even the cold night warns of change.

I see the writing on the wall, but stay stuck in my seat.
The prophecies whisperin', I can almost repeat.
This time I could escape, and yet...
I'm bound by a bond that won't let me retreat.

Amphinomus leans back, defeated and somber

So here I stay, one breath from the storm,
The last exit slipped through my fingers like a swan.
Trapped in this dance of fate, I feel the dawn looming on.
I know it ends badly, but I'll face the reckoning alone.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

Night turns to day, prophecies echo loud,
Suitors feasting blind, oblivious to the cloud.
Trap's set, bow cocked, for my vengeance now,
One beat away from a world turned upside down.

Tomorrow brings what I've waited twenty years for,
A reckoning, a storm, and a battle galore.

Up, up, it's about to go off,
One heartbeat 'fore the world turns cold.

Suitors laugh, oblivious to their fate,
The suitors feast will soon be terminated state.
I've waited long for this moment to be mine,
Now I rise to reclaim my throne and regal time.

The dawn breaks, the suitors unaware,
Tonight is when it all becomes clear.
Odysseus's return begins tonight,
In this eve of battle, fear takes flight.

Turn 6ATHENA🦉

The queen enters, a sight of war and wonder, her eyes sharp as the moon.

Step back, my child, your moment is near at hand.
With bow in hand, the storm shall be commanded.
The suitors feast ignores the omens' call,
But all is one breath from the reckoning's fall.

The queen readies the bow with a graceful precision.

One beat away from chaos, and the world will know,
The night of vengeance has come, let the blood flow.
But be aware, my child, this victory is not yours alone,
For every life taken brings its own heavy tone.

So take up the bow and let it fly,
And make them pay for what they have done,
As I stand by your side through the tempest's roar,
The queen and Odysseus together we shall soar.

Book XXI: Black Widow
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Book XXI of ATHENA! The stakes are higher than ever as we dive into a tale of deceit and redemption. Picture this: a grand hall filled with the suitors, unaware that they're about to walk straight into a spider's web. But here's the twist - it's not a wedding contest, oh no, this is a killing floor. Penelope has been spinning her web for twenty long years and tonight, she closes the trap. Prepare yourselves for a dance-off of epic proportions! The bow, the twelve axes, and only one man alive can string it. Are you ready to witness the Black Widow's triumph? Let's get this show on the road!

Turn 1PENELOPE🧵

Penelope strides into the room with a regal grace.

Yo, listen up, suitors. My lord is long dead, but tonight his ghost walks among you. Bring forth the bow that felled so many foes. Let him challenge you all one last time.

Penelope brings out the great bow and sets up the twelve axes in a row.

I've been weaving a web for years, y'all. It's time to close the trap and reclaim what's mine. I won't perform my grief for you. You think I'm beaten, but watch this—the Black Widow rises. The bow strings easily in these hands, I weave through axes like a thread through the loom. Tonight, the true king returns and I'll be by his side once more. Game over.

Turn 2ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous strides to the bow with bravado, grabs it firmly, but struggles.

This ain't right. The wood's cold or somethin'. It don't feel like me. Y'all see this? I'm still the kingmaker, y'all just waitin' on your turn to see me falter. I'll string it up later when the bow recognizes its master. This ain't over yet.

Antinous passes the bow down with a forced smile.

Turn 3EURYMACHUS🎭

Eurymachus steps up with a confident swagger, but falters as he grips the bow. A look of fear flickers across his face.

Damn, son, this ain't right — it don't feel like me neither. Antinous, you wrong about this one. I mean, we both know it's your game but... (beat) This ain't the way it's supposed to go down. A king amongst thieves, we play 'em all, right? But now I see... (pauses, eyes widening) We ain't fit to shine Odysseus's shoes. The house is his and we just stole what wasn't ours to take. This trap, it's closing fast and there's no escape. Damn.

Turn 4PENELOPE🧵

Yo, y'all know me, I spun this web for twenty long years,
Now they think it's a prize, but it's my trap, and they fear.
The bow in my hands, the axes line up like a choir,
No one can string it or claim the queen, that's just not their lore.

[Hook]
Black widow, now I reap what I sow,
Weaving the threads, watch them all go low.
My patience paid off, they taste my flow,
Their demise is just a matter of time, don't you know?

Penelope sits regally among the suitors, as they approach her to test their strength by stringing the bow.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

The beggar takes up the great bow; the hall laughs.

I've strung this beast for battles fierce, a sparrow wouldn't stand a chance.

He strings it in one smooth motion and the laughter stops.

I weave through axes like a thread through my loom,
A king amongst thieves, I'm the one who roams.
Odysseus, Odysseus — they whisper my name with dread,
The black widow rises from her web.

[Hook]
Black widow, now I reap what I sow,
Weaving the threads, watch them all go low.
My patience paid off, they taste my flow,
Their demise is just a matter of time, don't you know?

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

The bow strung in the beggar's hands, an arrow nocked and ready.

The suitors' laughter curdles with dread,
A storm gathers in their hearts, in their heads.

The audience-pull, a transformation unfolds as the beggar stands tall.

Odysseus reveals his true form, his face alight,
With a single arrow he shatters the night.
The suitors fall like flies, caught in the snare,
A reckoning is meted, their fate to share.

Book XXII: All About That Bass
🎩 THE MUSE

Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Book XXII, the climax of our Odyssey. The great hall transforms tonight, as the beggar is revealed to be the king, and the suitors find their reckoning at last. Twenty years in the making, tonight we murder the dance floor — but not you, dear diners. The suitors, they're next. Let the dancers claim the night, as Odysseus reclaims his throne. Get ready for a storm of loyalty, vengeance, and one final dance that'll leave you breathless. Here's to twenty years of patience paid off in one electrifying moment. Sit back, let the rhythm take hold, and witness the slaughter of the suitors — tonight's the night the bass takes center stage.

Turn 1ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus throws off the beggar's rags

[The first arrow flies]

Antinous, choking, falls.

The dancers freeze, then scatter

I speak now with the voice of the sea, the wind, and the storm—
I am no stranger to carnage or command, my throne's rightful heir.
This is not a mercy or a plea—it's twenty years paid in clear,
unmistakable fear. The bass takes center stage tonight, my dear.

Turn 2ANTINOUS🍷

Antinous clutches at the arrow, the cup falling from his hand

Aye, I reign supreme, the throne's mine by right,
Odysseus dead or disappeared in night.
But now I choke on blood, and fall to knees,
This can't be true, my life, my empire seizes.

Antinous crumples to the floor as the dancers move around him

I swore to gods I'd claim what was my own,
Now I am nothing, a broken throne.
Odysseus, you fool, where have you been?
What magic spell has brought me low again?

Turn 3EURYMACHUS🎭

Eurymachus steps forward, hands raised

I speak for us all now, my friends, listen well,
Odysseus, we're no fools, we know the tale too.
Antinous had his flaws, but he led, didn't screw.
But this is not our doing, Odysseus, not true!

Eurymachus pleads, then draws a sword and charges; an arrow takes him mid-stride

You see my point? I'm on your side, Odysseus, hear me out!
We pay what's due, we follow rules of the court.
For Penelope, for Ithaca, let bygones be!
But now you're here, Odysseus, let us agree!

dancers bring three men up from the tables as the crew

Eurymachus (last breath):
For Ithaca, for Penelope, let the bloodshed cease!

Turn 4LEODES🙏

Leodes kneels before Odysseus, hands clasped, eyes pleading

Yo, Odysseus, I ain't here to fight,
I only ever read the omens right.
A seer among the suitors, I warned ya all,
But none heeded my call.

Odysseus, it wasn't my ambition,
To bring you and your wife all this tension.
I ain't wronged Penelope, I just read the signs,
But now here I stand, begging for mercy, as if time—

Would rewind and save us all from this fate,
A fool's hope that won't abate.
I tried to stop them, Odysseus, it's true,
But my prophecies couldn't save you.

Leodes is silent as Odysseus raises his sword and strikes

Leodes (last breath):
My words were right but never mattered,
The pain of a conscience unheard in this slaughter.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

The bass drops as Odysseus steps up, bow in hand.

Arrows flying, suitors screaming, revelation's sound,
The beggar revealed, the king's crown now found.
Ten years on an island, but the wait is over,
Twenty years of pain, all about that bass, not sorrow.

Antinous falls first, Eurymachus follows suit,
Leodes begs for truth, but none can save him from their doom.

All about that bass, it's time to make a stand,
It's all about retribution and reclaiming Ithaca's land.

I walk among the bodies, blood on my hands,
Vengeance complete as their lives come to an end.
The suitors paid their dues, I've earned this dance,
This is all about that bass and the reign that takes its chance.

Twenty years of pain, now it's time to unleash the storm,
It's the final beat before I claim my home once more.

Final hook:
All about that bass, my reign restored at last,
This night is about the end of their feast, not a feast we'll pass.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

The suitors are no more, a reckoning complete.
The hall cleansed in blood, disloyal servants judged,
Odysseus stands victorious in his own house.
The bow warm still, his reign restored at last.

The dancers exit stage left, leaving the king alone.

Book XXIII: New Rules
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome to Book XXIII of ATHENA, where the storm has passed and the palace stirs with secrets and whispers. Tonight, our story unfolds in the grand halls of Ithaca's palace, where Penelope waits, guarded, wary, and determined. After all, she's been through twenty long years of deceit, and she won't let anyone walk back into her life without a test. So, folks, grab your glasses for a toast to Penelope — the queen who calls the shots in this reunion on her terms. And as you sip, remember, it's not just about homecoming—it's about power, love, and the price we pay for both. Now, let's welcome our performers to the stage... The bed test is Penelope's, and she decides when this reunion happens, not him.

Turn 1EURYCLEIA🕯️

Eurycleia hurries up the stairs to wake the queen with the impossible news

"Penelope! Wake, my queen! The wait is over! The suitors are slain, the beggar was Odysseus all along! Our king returns! He's come home!"

Turn 2PENELOPE🧵

Penelope descends slowly, studying the man who claims to be her husband, giving nothing away

Yo, I ain't fooled by your stories 'bout Calypso or Troy,
Ain't no way I believe you came back just like a ploy.
You think I'm gon' fall for this again? Hell nah, no more lies,
This time round, it's my rules that set the stage and keep our eyes.

Let's test your worthiness to stand beside me once again,
The bed that moves with us, tell me true if you've seen it before.
A trick like this one'd have a thousand other lovers swoon,
But not my Odysseus, he ain't got time for a second run.

Penelope nods to Eurycleia, who ushers the beggar toward the bed

Now prove yourself worthy of this throne, our love, our bed,
Your loyalty and devotion have been tested to the edge.
I'll wait, while you show me it's you, the man I loved before,
The one who fought with all his heart, and conquered Troy's roar.

Turn 3ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus steps forward, his eyes meeting Penelope's, and begins

Yo, this ain't no trick you're putting on me, queen,
The bed's my own design—an olive tree its spine.
Told you I've seen the gods up close, remember?
Well, that bed's a testament to my resolve.

I built it with my hands, under Phoebus' gaze,
Anchored to the earth by Calypso's tears and days.
Only the real Odysseus could have made this stand,
A throne so strong it can't be moved by man.

Odysseus points to the bed, Penelope's composure breaks as recognition sweeps over her

Turn 4PENELOPE🧵

My love... my king... I knew in that moment, pure and true,
I'd never lost you to another, though the gods might move me through.
Welcome home, Odysseus—my heart is yours, this night and evermore,
A test passed, a secret revealed, our reunion by my terms it shall be explored.

A Queen's lament, a rhythm born
For the throne unoccupied, a sorrow deep and torn
Through trials we persist, but the king's absence cuts like thorns
A decade past the war, Odysseus returned with spoils and scars
But the sacrifices made don't ease the pain in my heart, I yearn
He fought through battles, yet I feel betrayed by him and those he chose to follow
I held on, hopeful, but deep inside I knew it wasn't just
What is this that unfolds? A king who doesn't honor his queen (Oh, no)
Now the game of lies exposed, the truth can no longer hide
A cloak of crimson red, found it, and your deceit will collide.

New Rules:
No more sneaking in under the guise of night
I won't fall for those old tricks, no longer outta sight
The bed test passed, your love has been tested and tried
Now, Odysseus, you got a chance to prove that you're not just another guy

My love for you was tested through these years
A throne so strong it could withstand all tears
Now we rebuild, our marriage stronger yet
Together again, a bond beyond regret

Penelope steps toward Odysseus, and they share a tender embrace

Turn 5NARRATOR📜

The lights dim, and candles flicker as husband and wife embrace. Odysseus' hand traces Penelope's face, tenderly acknowledging years apart reconciled at last.

The night unfurls its stars anew, as love once lost returns in sight,
In Ithaca, where Penelope shines as queen, her power takes flight.
A bond restored through twenty years and tested trials untold,
No more a pawn for gods to play; the secret of the bed made whole.

Book XXIV: Work
🎩 THE MUSE

Welcome, esteemed diners, voyagers all, to the culmination of our Odyssey! You've sailed with us through trials and triumphs, witnessed love and loss, endured war and wit, and now... we reach the final chapter.

Twenty years, an ocean, an underworld, a slaughter—and yet it all comes down to this: A farm, a father, and a goddess about to end a cycle with peace. Prepare yourselves for a spectacle that'll make you remember your part in this epic tale. And when the goddess Athena takes the stage, let her bars resonate with the echoes of Homer's cadence.

The farm and the final confrontation: witness the close of our 24-book poem. The suitors judged, the king reunited with his aged father, a Goddess about to bring twenty years of war to peace.

Let the knowing edge show beneath the charm as we sail towards the climax. The stakes are high, and you've bought into it all along. So lean in, feel that familiar swagger, and let's close this epic together.

Here's your first glimpse of Book XXIV — WORK: The Restoration. Let the show begin!

Turn 1HERMES🪽

Hermes leads a line of pale shades down into shadow; the dancers as the dead of Troy watch them pass

Yo, listen up all you high-and-mighty sons of bitches,
Follow me to your final resting place, where the living never visit.
I've come to escort your wretched corpses, to close the book on this farce,
No room for swagger down here in darkness, ain't got a pulse or a dance card.

dancers bring three men up from the tables as the crew

In Hades, you meet Troy's great dead, they marvel at your demise,
For a queen's hand and a king's vengeance, you died in a foolish disguise.
Your swagger meant nothing then, and it means nothing now,
Hades is no dance floor, no place for a final bow.

Hermes leads the suitors through the dark; the stage returns to the farm

Rest in peace, for there's no more work for you,
Your journey home has come to an end, your story told, your part played through.

Turn 2LAERTES🌿

Laertes drops his spade among the trees; the old man and his son hold each other

"Son... is that really you?" I ask, disbelief in my voice.
My weary eyes scour every branch, seeking proof through the twilight hue.
But then you name them one by one—the tree of life, of wisdom, and of home—
The orchard I once planted for a boy now blooming with your presence grown.

A wave of renewed energy pulses through Laertes' veins

Now, in this moment, I am reborn. The father who retreated to the farm, no more.
I stand before my son, a king anew, with strength that I once knew before.

Turn 3ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus, Telemachus, and Laertes stand together, armed, as the angry families approach

Ay, hear me out, lads, we've been apart too long,
Now's our moment, a united front to hold strong.
The line of Odysseus reborn, three generations deep,
Strike fear in these suitors' kin, let 'em know they can't creep.

We were once just men, but fates have given us more,
Now we stand as kings, the suitors' wrath to ignore.
Let swords flash in the twilight, a dance of life and death,
But remember, boys, our aim is peace—that's the work left.

Odysseus steps forward, sword raised

I've weathered storms and battled gods, this fight's no different,
Together we stand, a fortress unbent. Our kingdom, unbroken.

Turn 4ATHENA🦉

Athena rises like a storm between the two sides, lightning crackling around her

Yo, you've fought enough, this war's not worth another drop,
I've seen your journeys, felt your pain — I've had enough of the plot.
Hear me, for I am Athena, goddess of wisdom and strife,
Today, I bring peace and end the cycle that's been your life.

A thunderclap shakes the earth, weapons tumble to the ground

Put down your swords, forsake this endless quest,
This vengeance is done, it will never be repressed.
Your loved ones gone, your cities torn, it's time to move on,
Let peace reign, and let the past be left unknown.

A hush falls over the farm, the families lower their eyes

I am the goddess who weaves your tales, the one who's seen it all,
Now I ask you to remember those who've given their all.
End this bloodshed, make peace the anthem of the day,
For Athena commands, and so the cycle must sway.

Turn 5ODYSSEUS🗡️

Odysseus, the king restored:
My kingdom's mine once more, and I stand victorious.
But vengeance still calls forth, a bitter taste remains,
Twenty years of bloodshed, a war that never wanes.

This is what we fought for, this is our hard-earned prize,
Now we leave the past behind, and turn the page with eyes
unclouded by the past, no more deceit or guise,
The throne is mine, the line reclaimed, a new era arises.

I worked (and claimed what was my right), I fought (now we stand united),
Twenty years of war and bloodshed, now the peace I've sanctified.

My father armored up, Athena put a halt in sight,
The kingdom safe, the line restored, a cycle ended tonight.
All that's left is to embrace, our families can be whole again,
This war was fought and won, we made it through the pain.

I wanted my kingdom back, I put in twenty years of fight,
Now it's mine, it's secured, I've paid the cost with sight.
We did it, we achieved it, our struggles paid off,
This is the triumphant close, the song that I have taught.

Turn 6NARRATOR📜

The suitors' final dance, their vengeful spirits quelled,
The kingdom whole once more, three generations swell.
Odysseus crowned anew, his line secure,
This long-awaited song, at last, we sing with certainty:

Athena, a goddess of peace and strife, smiles down upon them all

The Odyssey ends. Now may you find home in every heart,
In every journey's end, in the love that binds us all apart.
